The problem

Business-critical applications run on unsupported platforms. The original developers have moved on, deployment is manual, and there is no test coverage to make change safe. Every release carries risk, so releases become rare, which makes them riskier still.

Our approach

Applications are assessed for business criticality, technical condition and change frequency, then assigned a disposition: retire, retain, rehost, replatform or rebuild. Rehosting removes immediate platform risk quickly; rebuilding is reserved for applications where change frequency justifies the investment. Automated deployment and a baseline test suite are introduced before functional change, so modernisation reduces risk from the first release rather than the last.
