Power Platform approval workflow automation

The problem

Approvals travel by email. Thresholds live in a spreadsheet that few people can find, delegation during absence is informal, and nobody can reconstruct who approved what without searching mailboxes. Finance and audit teams cannot evidence control.

Our approach

Delegation rules and thresholds are modelled explicitly in Dataverse rather than embedded in flow logic, so finance can maintain them without a developer. Power Automate handles routing, reminders, escalation and out-of-office delegation. Requests are submitted through a Power App or directly in Teams. Every decision is recorded with actor, timestamp and rationale, and exceptions are reported rather than silently permitted.
